One day I walked along this street and saw graffiti on the wall, which I painted in the study painting done for this piece. I loved the colors and simple graphic design. For my larger painting, I chose to change the imagery to my own, including a fiery phoenix inspired bird, lines from a loved one’s favorite song, and musings I felt expressed the day to life of people in Sacramento, California.
